The Paradip Port Authority (PPA) on April 09, 2026, issued circular regarding the Facilitation measures and waiver/concessions extended by PPA.
In line with government directives to address disruptions due to geo-political issues in the Middle East, the Port Authority has introduced temporary relief measures and operational support to reduce the burden on port users. These measures aim to ensure smooth cargo handling and maintain supply chain continuity.
The key reliefs include: 100% waiver on ground rent/dwell time charges, 80% waiver on reefer plug-in charges for perishable goods, 75% concession on Vessel Related Charges (VRC), and full exemption from container scanning charges. These benefits are applicable for the period February 28, 2026 to April 30, 2026, mainly for containers stranded and cargo bound for West Asia. Shipping lines and intermediaries have been directed to pass on these benefits to exporters.
Additionally, operational measures such as priority berthing for LPG vessels, enhanced coordination with stakeholders, and provision of extra storage and temporary stacking facilities have been implemented to facilitate efficient cargo handling and minimize disruptions.
