The Department of Labour, Govt. of Goa on April 22, 2026, issued the Draft Goa Code on Wages Rules, 2026.
The following has been stated:
• The Draft rules aim to implement the provisions of the Code on Wages at the state level by prescribing detailed procedures and compliance requirements. It outlines rules for fixation and revision of minimum wages, including criteria such as skill levels, geographical areas, and cost of living.
• The draft also covers payment of wages, specifying timelines, permissible deductions, and modes of payment (including digital methods).
• It provides guidelines for bonus payments, record-keeping, and maintenance of registers, along with inspection and enforcement mechanisms.
• Additionally, it defines the roles of authorities, grievance redressal processes, and penalties for non-compliance.
• The last date for submission of objections/suggestions is May 06, 2026.
