The Department of Labour, Haryana, on April 24, 2026, issued a notification regarding Paid Holiday for Haryana Panchayat Elections.
The following has been stated:-
•As per notification of the State Election Commission, Haryana, general and bye-elections for specified Panchayats and local bodies will be held on May 10, 2026.
•To facilitate voting, the Haryana Government has declared a paid holiday for eligible employees.
•This applies to workers in shops and commercial establishments who are registered voters in the concerned areas.
•The order is issued under the Haryana Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958, to ensure employees can exercise their franchise.
