The following has been stated: -

•The National Stock Exchange of India issued a circular on April 29, 2026, detailing membership for the new Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segment.

•Entities must register under SEBI (Stock Brokers) Regulations, 2026, to become EGR trading members.

•Existing NSE members can apply for EGR segment activation, while new entities must apply through prescribed membership formats.

•Financial requirements include a net worth of ₹1 crore, deposits, and Base Minimum Capital (₹10–50 lakhs depending on trading type).

•Application and membership fees apply, with some exemptions for exclusive EGR segment applicants, and support is available via the NSE helpdesk.
