The Government of Haryana, on April 22, 2026, issued a notification regarding the General/Bye-Elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Municipal Bodies -- Declaration of Holiday on Poll Day.
The following has been stated: -
•Polling for General and Bye-Elections of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Municipal Bodies will be held on May 10, 2026 (Sunday).
•As Sunday is already a closed day under the Factories Act, 1948, no separate holiday notification is required.
•The elections cover multiple municipal corporations, councils, committees, and Panchayati Raj bodies across Haryana.
•It also includes bye-elections for vacant seats in various wards and local bodies as per State Election Commission notifications.
