Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Ministry of Finance (MoF) on April 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding amendments to Various Duty Notifications.

The following has been stated: -

•The Central Government, under Section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended multiple earlier customs notifications in the public interest. 

•These amendments mainly involve the substitution of tariff item codes in the respective tables of the notifications. 

•Changes apply across several notifications issued between 2004 and 2007, covering various goods categories. 

•The revisions update classification codes for better clarity and alignment with current tariff structures. 

•Overall, the notification ensures consistency and accuracy in customs duty applicability for specified goods.

This notification shall come into effect on May 01, 2026
