The Department of Education, Goa, on April 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding the Aadhaar Requirement for the Interest-Free Education Loan Scheme (IFEL).
The following has been stated:-
•The Government of Goa has mandated Aadhaar authentication or proof for availing benefits under the Interest Free Education Loan Scheme (IFEL) administered by GEDC.
•Applicants without Aadhaar must enroll, with alternative identity documents allowed temporarily, especially for minors and special cases.
•The scheme ensures that benefits are not denied due to Aadhaar issues, with fallback verification mechanisms in place.
•Authorities are required to verify documents, ensure enrolment, and maintain records while promoting awareness of Aadhaar requirements.
This notification shall be effective from April 30, 2026.
