Labour ComplianceThe Department of Economics & Statistics (DES) on April 04, 2026, issued the Consumer Price Index Numbers for Agricultural Labourers and Industrial Workers – March 2026 (Kerala).

The Department of Economics & Statistics, Government of Kerala, has released the Consumer Price Index (CPI) numbers for Agricultural Labourers and Industrial Workers for March 2026. These indices are used to determine the cost of living and are applicable for employees covered under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.

The CPI has been calculated in accordance with earlier Government Orders, particularly G.O.(MS) No.103/2013/LBR dated August 31, 2013 and G.O.(MS) No.34/2015/LBR dated March 26, 2015. The approved linking factors (effective from April 2015) have been applied, with the base year for the old series remaining 1998–99 = 100 for all centres.

Overall Effect:

The notification provides updated CPI figures for March 2026, which serve as a basis for wage revision, cost of living adjustments, and statutory compliance under the Minimum Wages framework in Kerala.
