The Government of Uttarakhand, on April 29, 2026, issued a notification regarding wage revision for Engineering Units.
The following has been stated:-
•The Government of Uttarakhand has issued a notification to revise the minimum wages for workers in engineering units and industries employing 50 or more laborers to maintain industrial peace and address rising living costs.
•Following reports of potential labor unrest and a gap of 20 years since the last major revision, a tripartite committee consisting of government, employer, and employee representatives was formed to negotiate new rates.
•Effective from April 01, 2026, the basic monthly wage, including adjusted Dearness Allowance (DA) is set at 13,800 for unskilled workers and 16,900 for skilled workers.
•While the initial order listed the semi-skilled wage at 15,000, a subsequent amendment (Notification No. 510/VIII-1/2026) corrected this figure to 15,100.
•This directive, issued under the United Provinces Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, serves as interim relief until further orders or the full implementation of the Labour Code, 2019.
•The Governor’s order supersedes all previous notifications regarding these specific units to ensure standardized pay across the state's industrial sectors.
