CBIC issued a notification regarding amendments to the Customs Tariff Values Notification

Finance & Taxation ComplianceThe Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) on April 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding amendments to the Customs Tariff Values Notification.

The following has been stated:-

•CBIC has amended Notification No. 36/2001-Customs (N.T.) under Section 14(2) of the Customs Act, 1962. 

•Revised tariff values have been notified for edible oils, including crude palm oil, RBD palm oil, palmolein, and crude soybean oil. 

•Updated tariff values are also specified for gold (USD 1456 per 10g), silver (USD 2360/kg), and brass scrap. 

•Tariff value for areca nuts remains unchanged at USD 9155 per metric tonne.

This notification shall come into force with effect from May 01, 2026.
