The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on May 04, 2026, issued a direction to block 113 Illegal Sports Streaming Websites under the Delhi High Court Order (CS (COMM) 1152/2025).
The following has been stated:
• Pursuant to the order dated November 06, 2025, of the Delhi High Court in the case Dazn Limited & Anr. vs. 9goals.io & Ors., the Department has directed all Internet Service Licensees to block access to 113 websites/domains immediately.
• These websites, listed under the 22nd and 23rd additional lists submitted by the plaintiff, are primarily engaged in unauthorized streaming of sports content, infringing intellectual property rights. The court, through paras 33 and 34 of its order, mandated strict enforcement action.
• Accordingly:
o ISPs shall block access to all listed domains without delay.
o The action is mandatory compliance with court orders.
o The move aims to curb digital piracy and protect broadcasting rights, especially for live sports content.
