The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on April 29, 2026, notified regarding the revised standards for telecommunication equipment.
The following has been stated:
• The Government has notified revised technical standards for telecommunication equipment, specifically for Carrier Grade Network Address Translation (CGNAT) equipment and Load Balancers.
• These updated “Essential Requirements” will come into effect from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
• However, both the existing and revised standards will operate simultaneously for a transition period of 90 days, after which only the revised standards will be mandatory for compliance.
