The Government of Kerala has granted a temporary exemption to stalls and pavilions operating at the Thrissur Pooram Exhibition Ground from certain provisions of the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1960.

Specifically, the exemption applies to Section 5A and sub-section (1) of Section 10 of the Act, which generally regulate working conditions and business operations of commercial establishments.

This exemption is effective for the duration of the exhibition period, from March 20, 2026 to May 22, 2026, in view of public interest and the special nature of the event.

Overall, the notification provides operational flexibility to temporary stalls and pavilions during the festival exhibition period.
