The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) on May 04, 2026, notified regarding the Fixation of four new Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs) at SION No. A3698, 4-3699, 4-3700 & 43701 under "chemical and Allied product” (Product Code-'A').
The Director General of Foreign Trade has notified four new Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs) under the Foreign Trade Policy 2023 for products in the Chemical & Allied Product Group ‘A’. The newly introduced SIONs are assigned serial numbers A-3698, A-3699, A-3700, and A-3701, covering export products such as Cefuroxime Sterile Sodium, NAS-5, Tobramycin Nebuliser Solution, and Schaeffers Acid, along with their corresponding permitted input materials and quantities.
These norms specify the quantity of import inputs allowed for producing a unit of export product, thereby standardizing input-output ratios for these chemical items.
The introduction of these SIONs will allow Regional Authorities to issue Advance Authorisations directly without referring individual cases to the Norms Committee. This is expected to streamline the approval process, reduce delays, and ensure greater consistency in decision-making for exporters.
