The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on May 05, 2026, issued a notification regarding Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) usage of designated numbering series (1600xx & 140xx) for service, transactional, and promotional calls.
The following has been stated:-
•TRAI’s November 19, 2025, direction mandates regulated entities to use 1600xx numbers only for service and transactional calls, and 140xx numbers only for promotional calls.
•Trading Members were earlier advised and are now reminded again to strictly comply with these rules.
•They must ensure correct classification and usage of number series as per call type.
•Definitions of call categories are provided under the Telecom Commercial Communications Preference Regulations, 2018.
