The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has prescribed a structured registration framework for Research Analysts (RA) under the SEBI (Research Analysts) Regulations, 2014, with operational support from the BSE Limited-recognized RAASB (Research Analyst Administration and Supervisory Body), which was granted recognition on July 12, 2024. Individuals, partnership firms, LLPs, and body corporates are eligible to apply for registration and must obtain both SEBI registration and RAASB enlistment.
The registration follows a three-step process: (i) online application submission via the BSE RAASB portal, including document upload and verification/rectification; (ii) submission of Form A on SEBI’s SI portal along with regulatory scrutiny and approval/rejection; and (iii) payment of applicable fees to both SEBI and RAASB, followed by certification and issuance of registration. Applicants must ensure compliance with documentation requirements specific to their entity type to avoid delays.
The process begins with registration on the BSE portal under the Research Analyst section, followed by creation of login credentials and submission of a new application by selecting the appropriate application and entity type. Upon successful verification and fee payment, the applicant receives enlistment confirmation from RAASB and a registration certificate from SEBI, enabling them to operate as a Research Analyst in the securities market.
