The Department of Labour & Employment, UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, on April 30, 2026, issued a notification regarding the declaration of Special Allowance under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
The following has been stated:-
•The notification concerns revision of special allowance under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, for Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
•The basic wages were earlier fixed through prior notifications, along with periodic revisions of the special allowance.
•With effect from April 01, 2026, the special allowance has been increased based on the cost-of-living index. The revised increase is ₹12 per day across all scheduled employments.
•Accordingly, total daily wages have been updated: unskilled workers ₹501.50, semi-skilled ₹512.50, and skilled ₹522.50. The special allowance component is ₹60.50 per day for all categories.
•These revised rates will apply to all employments covered under the Act in the Union Territory.
