The Government of Haryana, on May 04, 2026, issued the Draft Code on Wages (Haryana) Rules, 2026.
The following has been stated:-
•The rules apply across Haryana and come into force upon publication, defining key terms like authority, employee categories, and family.
•Minimum wages are to be calculated based on factors such as family needs, calorie intake, housing, and other expenses, with wages derived on daily, hourly, and monthly bases.
•The State Government will fix wages considering skill level, geography, and experience, supported by a technical committee.
•Provisions also include periodic revision of dearness allowance, regulation of working hours, and mandatory weekly rest with wage entitlements.
•Additional safeguards cover overtime, rest day compensation, and protection of employee rights under various working conditions.
Objections and suggestions, if any, may be submitted within 30 days.
