The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) on May 04, 2026, notified regarding the Disposal/Rejection of Long-Pending Applications on SUGAM Portal Awaiting Query Response.
The following has been stated:
• It has observed that many applications across divisions remain pending due to applicants not responding to queries raised during evaluation. To address this backlog, CDSCO has implemented a structured reminder mechanism on the SUGAM portal, under which applicants receive up to three reminders at fixed intervals to submit responses within prescribed timelines. If no response is received even after these reminders, a fourth and final communication is issued declaring the application rejected and the fee forfeited as per applicable rules.
• Further, applications that have been pending with applicants for more than two years and have already undergone the three-reminder process will now be rejected after 30 days from the date of this public notice.
• Stakeholders are therefore advised to review the annexure for timelines and promptly respond to all pending queries to avoid rejection of their applications.
