The Government of Madhya Pradesh, Labour Department (LD), April 30, 2026, issued a draft notification proposing new rules under Section 99 of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020. These proposed rules aim to consolidate and replace the existing regulatory framework governing industrial disputes, trade unions, and standing orders in the state.
The draft rules are intended to supersede the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Disputes Rules, 1957, the Madhya Pradesh Trade Union Regulations, 1961, and the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Rules, 1963. This move aligns the state-level framework with the provisions of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, ensuring a unified and updated compliance regime.
The draft has been published for public consultation, and stakeholders may submit objections or suggestions within 45 days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette. The final rules will be considered after reviewing such inputs.
