The Government of Odisha on May 01, 2026, issued a notification regarding the revision of Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA).
The following has been stated:-
•The Government of Odisha has revised the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) under minimum wages based on the Consumer Price Index increase of 3.92 points for industrial workers.
•As per the notification issued by the Labour & ESI Department, VDA has been increased by ₹10 per day for all categories of workers with effect from April 01, 2026.
•Accordingly, the revised daily wages are ₹472 for unskilled, ₹522 for semi-skilled, ₹572 for skilled, and ₹622 for highly skilled workers.
•This increase is in continuation of the biannual VDA revision mechanism linked to inflation.
