Labour ComplianceThe Department of Labour and Employment, Goa, on April 29, 2026, issued a notification regarding the revision of Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for Scheduled Employments.

The following has been stated:-

•The Commissioner of Labour and Employment in Panaji, Goa, has issued an order to revise the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for various Scheduled Employments. 

•Based on an increase in the average Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers between June and December 2025, the VDA is now fixed at Rs. 149/- per day. 

•This new rate is applicable to 20 different employment categories, including shops, hotels, construction, and agriculture, effective from April 01, 2026. 

•The revision follows the powers conferred by several government notifications dated August 10, 2023, such as Notification No. 24/21/2009-LAB-III/(01)/551 for commercial establishments. 

•This adjustment ensures that minimum wages for workers across these sectors stay aligned with the rising cost of living.
