The Government of Madhya Pradesh on May 04, 2026, issued draft amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Krishi Upaj Mandi (Mandi Samiti Vargikararan) Rules, 2009.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In rule 2, after clause (d), the following clauses shall be inserted, namely:-
"(d-2) "arrival" means all kinds of primary arrivals of all notified agricultural produce in the Market Committee:
(d-2) "annual arrival" means an average arrival of the preceding three years;"
• For rule 3, the following rule shall be substituted, namely:-
"3. Classification of Market Committee.-
"The Market Committee shall, for all the purposes of the Act, be classified as follows:
(a) "A" Class Market Committee having annual income of more than rupees six crore, and annual arrival of more than two lakh fifty thousand metric tonne;
b) "B" Class Market Committee having annual income of more than rupees three crore fifty lakhs but not exceeding rupees six crores, and
ii. annual arrivals of more than one lakh twenty-five thousand metric tons but not exceeding two lakh fifty thousand metric tons.
(c) "C" Class Market Committee having annual income of more than rupees one crore fifty lakhs but not exceeding rupees three crore fifty lakhs, and annual arrivals of more than fifty thousand metric tons but not exceeding one lakh twenty-five thousand metric tons.
(d) "D" Class Market Committee having annual income not exceeding rupees one crore fifty lakhs and annual arrivals not exceeding fifty thousand metric tons.
Provided that, on the basis of annual income and annual arrivals, a Market Committee falls into different classes, the lower class shall be applicable.
Provided further that no Market Committee classified earlier shall, consequent upon the commencement of amendment of this rule, be classified in a lower class for the current financial year."
Any objection or suggestion which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft of amendment on or before the expiry of the period specified above shall be considered by the State Government or the Managing Director.
