The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on May 06, 2026, issued a notification regarding approved technical specifications of High End Equipment (H EE) – LC/EAIRMS.
The following has been stated:-
•Food Safety and Standards Authority of India has finalized and released the approved technical specifications for High-End Equipment (HEE) comprising LC-IRMS and EA-IRMS systems.
•The equipment will be used for detecting food adulteration, authentication of honey and other foods, analysis of C3/C4 sugars, organic products, and source-origin verification.
•The specifications prescribe detailed requirements for mass spectrometers, chromatography systems, software, calibration standards, UPS, computers, training, warranty, and after-sales support.
•Vendors must provide a minimum 5-year warranty support, annual maintenance, trained manpower for 3 years, and demonstrate successful installations in India.
•The systems are required to meet Indian and global food regulation standards with advanced analytical precision, automated workflows, and comprehensive compliance validation protocols.
