The Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on May 06, 2026, notified regarding the Non-Charging of AMC in Demat Accounts Consisting of Illiquid, Suspended, or Delisted Securities.
The following has been stated:
• It has informed Depository Participants (DPs) that, pursuant to its earlier communique dated September 30, 2025, demat accounts marked as “To be Closed” and holding only illiquid, suspended or delisted securities should not be charged Annual Maintenance Charges (AMC).
• Accordingly, CDSL has shared DP-wise lists of such Beneficial Owner (BO) accounts in the respective DP billing folders under the file name format “BLNG<<DP ID>>NO_AMC_ISINS_06052026.tar”. The identification of such securities is based on information received from stock exchanges.
• DPs have been advised to review these accounts, refrain from levying AMC subject to the conditions specified in the earlier communique, and ensure compliance with the instructions.
