The Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) on May 19, 2026, notified regarding the implementation of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, and amendments.
The following has been stated:
• The Board has directed strict implementation of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 across the state to control excessive noise and maintain prescribed sound standards.
• The Board has reminded the public that installation of sound limiters in sound systems/public address systems is mandatory, and prior permission from competent authorities is required for use of DJs, loudspeakers, and similar equipment. Use of DJs and loudspeakers is prohibited between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM. Citizens have been urged to follow all applicable guidelines, notifications, and circulars related to noise pollution control.
