Secretarial ComplianceThe National E-Governance Services Limited (NeSL) on May 25, 2026, issued a circular regarding the withdrawal of the e-BG request.

The following has been stated:-

•The National E-Governance Services Limited (NeSL) has announced a new feature allowing beneficiaries to withdraw erroneous Electronic Bank Guarantee (e-BG) requests from July 31, 2026. 

•Beneficiaries will be able to withdraw requests such as amendment, renewal, invocation, cancellation, closure, and extend-or-pay, provided the bank has not yet accepted, rejected, or acted upon the original request. 

•The withdrawal facility can be accessed either through the NeSL portal onscreen option or via the Event Request API by selecting “Withdrawal” and providing the original Request ID. 

•Banks will also receive notification updates through revised Notification APIs containing new fields for withdrawal requests. 

•Banks must complete the required API changes and inform NeSL of their readiness to NeSL before July 15, 2026, while portal-based beneficiaries can use the feature without any system modification.
