Industry Specific ComplianceThe National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), on May 27, 2026, notified the implementation plan for the New Accreditation Standards for Ayush Hospitals (1st Edition), which will become effective from August 1, 2026. The new standards will be uniformly applicable across all AYUSH disciplines, including Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy, and Sowa-Rigpa.

Under the transition framework, hospitals applying for accreditation, renewal, surveillance, or final assessment before specified cut-off dates have been provided an option to choose between the new standards and the existing discipline-specific standards. However, applications submitted on or after August 1, 2026, will generally be governed by the new unified standards, with accreditation validity remaining four years.

NABH has further clarified that it will commence assessments under the new standards from August 1, 2026 onwards. No fresh or renewal applications under the old standards will be accepted after July 31, 2026, and surveillance assessments under the old standards will also cease after that date.
