The Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC) on May 29, 2026, issued the Second Amendment to the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (Verification of Captive Generating Plants and Captive Users) Regulations, 2023.
This shall come into effect from May 29, 2026.
The following has been amended:
• The amendment inserts a new Regulation 10, providing that the existing Regulations and the detailed procedure for verification of the status of Captive Generating Plants (CGPs) and captive users shall remain valid only up to March 12, 2026. However, the Designated Authority appointed for verification and the CGP Status Dispute Resolution Committee constituted under the principal regulations will continue to function until March 31, 2026, to facilitate closure of ongoing verification and dispute-resolution processes.
• The amendment further clarifies that the new provision will not affect any pending cases, which will continue to be dealt with under the existing framework.
