The Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB) on May 19, 2026, issued a notification regarding the revised White Category list and grants of CTE/CTO exemptions to 86 Industrial Sectors.
The following has been stated:-
•The Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB) has adopted the revised list of White Category industrial sectors in line with MoEF&CC Notification No. G.S.R. 761(E) dated October 17, 2025.
•The decision was approved in the 95th Board Meeting held on May 13, 2026.
•A total of 86 White Category industrial sectors are exempted from obtaining Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO).
•The exemption is granted under the Water and Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Amendment Acts, 2024, and takes effect immediately.
