The Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprise Department (ICPED), Assam, on March 2, 2026, extended the validity of the Assam Agarwood Promotion Policy, 2020 for a further period of six months. The extension has been granted in the interest of public service to ensure continuity of policy support for the agarwood sector in the State. [Notification No. eCF No. 272197/450]
The policy was originally notified on December 18, 2020, came into force on January 1, 2021, and was intended to remain effective for a period of five years ending on December 31, 2025. Through the present notification, the policy period has been extended from January 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026.
The notification further provides that the extension shall operate with retrospective effect from January 1, 2026, thereby ensuring uninterrupted applicability of the Assam Agarwood Promotion Policy and its associated incentives, support measures, and regulatory framework during the extended period.
