Labour ComplianceThe Directorate of Factories, Government of Telangana, on June 10, 2026, has issued Safety Alert for Coal-Based Thermal Power Plants (CTPPs), outlining comprehensive hazard identification and safety control measures across critical operational areas.

The following has been stated:

The advisory covers coal storage yards, stacker and reclaimer operations, belt conveyors, coal crushers, pulverisers, boilers, steam turbines, hydrogen-cooled generators, water treatment plants, demineralisation units, ash handling systems, coal bunkers, and ash silos. It emphasizes preventive measures such as continuous monitoring of fire, gas, dust, pressure, vibration, and structural integrity; implementation of permit-to-work (PTW) and lockout-tagout (LOTO) systems; installation of explosion suppression, fire detection, and emergency response systems; and strict adherence to occupational health and safety practices.

The alert also highlights the management of hazardous substances such as hydrogen, chlorine, acids, and alkalis, while stressing compliance with statutory requirements, fire safety standards, occupational health surveillance, and environmental safeguards. The advisory has been issued to enhance industrial safety awareness and prevent accidents in coal-based thermal power plants.
