The Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (JSERC) on June 05, 2026, notified the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Determination of Distribution Tariff) (1st Amendment) Regulations, 2026 to amend the Jharkhand State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Determination of Distribution Tariff) Regulations, 2025.
The following has been stated:-
•The amendment provides that if a distribution licensee has an approved and outstanding Regulatory Asset/Gap pending recovery during the same financial year, any reduction in power supply costs due to lower fuel, power procurement, or transmission charges will not be passed on to consumers.
•Instead, such savings may be used to offset the outstanding Regulatory Asset/Gap. This ensures financial recovery for the licensee before consumer tariff reductions are considered.
These Regulations shall come into force on June 05, 2026.
