The Council of Architecture on June 16, 2026, issued the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026, further to amend the Council of Architecture (Minimum Standards of Architectural Education) Regulations 2020.
This shall come into force from June 23, 2026.
It states that in Regulation 4 (2), the following sub-regulation shall be substituted, namely: -
“(2) The candidate needs to qualify an aptitude test in architecture conducted either by NTA (i.e. JEE) or “NATA” by Council of Architecture. However, admission of candidates in Bachelor of Architecture Degree course under Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme of the Government of India uptil the academic year 2020-2021 based on SAT Subject Test will be considered as valid admission for the purpose of acquiring recognized qualification.”
