The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) on June 20, 2026, issued the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms & Conditions for Green Energy Open Access) (Sixth Amendment) Regulations, 2026 to further amend the Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (Terms and Conditions for Green Energy Open Access) Regulations, 2024.
The following amendment has been stated:
• Amendment to Regulation 1(4): Revises the applicability of banking charges by providing that the banking charge of ₹1.00 per unit shall be effective from September 01, 2026, to March 31, 2027. Thereafter, from April 01, 2027 onwards, banking charges shall be determined in accordance with Regulation 17.6, as amended from time to time.
• Amendment to Regulation 17.6(viii): Revises the methodology for determination of banking charges from April 01, 2027, based on the methodology prescribed in Annexure-I and data furnished by Distribution Licensees for the immediately preceding calendar year or such period as specified by the Commission.
• First Proviso to Regulation 17.6(viii): Mandates Distribution Licensees to maintain and furnish complete, accurate and sufficient data through a duly sworn affidavit in the manner and timelines specified by the Commission. The Commission may verify such data through SLDC or any other appropriate means.
It extends to the whole of Gujarat and shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
