The Industries and Commerce Department, Nagaland, on May 08, 2025, issued the Nagaland Trade, Investment, and Industrial Policy (NTIIP), 2025.
The following has been stated:
• The Policy provides a comprehensive framework to transform Nagaland into a competitive destination for trade, investment and industrial development by promoting sustainable industrialisation, entrepreneurship, innovation and employment generation.
• The policy focuses on improving the ease of doing business through a streamlined regulatory framework, single-window clearances and investor facilitation, while encouraging investment in priority sectors such as agro and food processing, bamboo and forest-based industries, handloom and handicrafts, tourism, information technology, healthcare, education, renewable energy and other value-added manufacturing and services.
• It seeks to strengthen industrial infrastructure through the development of industrial estates, logistics and common facilities, facilitate access to finance, technology and skill development for MSMEs and startups, and promote exports and market linkages.
• The policy also provides a range of fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, including capital investment support, interest and power subsidies, reimbursement of statutory costs, support for quality certification, innovation, research and development, and incentives for employment generation, with special emphasis on women, youth and local entrepreneurs.
• Further, it encourages environmentally sustainable industrial practices, private sector participation and public-private partnerships, while laying down operational guidelines for implementation, monitoring and periodic review to ensure balanced and inclusive economic growth across the State.
