The Kerala State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) on June 24, 2026, notified regarding the distance criteria applicable to furniture and carpentry units with machinery similar to that in plywood manufacturing units.
It has been noticed by the Board that some units applying for consent under the sectors 'Modular wooden furniture' and 'Carpentry & wooden furniture' are establishing machinery required for plywood manufacturing, also within the units. While processing consent applications about such units, the distance criteria and control measures applicable to plywood manufacturing units shall be complied with.
