The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on June 18, 2026 has launched a mobile application for Aadhaar to enable Aadhaar number holders to access services in a secure and convenient manner.
Currently, updating the email address in Aadhaar attracts a fee of ₹75. To promote greater participation and encourage users to keep their Aadhaar details updated, UIDAI has decided to waive this fee.
As per the decision, the email address update service through the Aadhaar mobile application will be provided free of cost for a limited period of six months.
This waiver will be effective from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026, after which the standard charges may be reinstated.
