The Government of Assam, on June 23, 2026, issued a notification regarding the revision of Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for Sales Promotion Employees.
The following has been stated:-
•The Government has revised the Variable Dearness Allowance (VDA) for employees engaged in specified Sales Promotion Establishments, based on a 75% increase in the All India Consumer Price Index (Industrial Workers).
•With effect from May 01, 2025, the VDA has been increased by ₹69.13, raising the gross monthly wage of sales promotion employees from ₹16,805.56 to ₹16,874.69.
•The revision applies to employees in industries such as pharmaceuticals, automobiles, electronics, cosmetics, garments, soft drinks, paints, surgical equipment, and electrical appliances.
•The revised wage structure comprises a minimum wage of ₹12,500, VDA of ₹4,374.69, resulting in a gross wage of ₹16,874.69.
