The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoH&UA) on July 03, 2026, notified the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Real Estate (Regulation and Development) (General) Amendment Rules, 2026, to amend the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Real Estate (Regulation and Development) (General) Rules, 2016.
The following has been stated:-
•The amendment removes the provision imposing a 10% penalty of the estimated cost of the plot, apartment, or building for offences punishable with imprisonment under section 68.
•Accordingly, this specific monetary penalty is no longer prescribed under Rule 33(1) of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Real Estate (Regulation and Development) (General) Rules, 2016.
They shall come into force on July 03, 2026.
