The Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB) on June 29, 2026, notified the Revised Rates for Sampling and Analysis of Environmental Samples.
The following has been stated:
• It has notified the revised rates for the sampling and analysis of environmental samples under Section 17(2) of the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, and Section 17(2) of the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1981, superseding its earlier notification dated August 11, 2010.
• The revised schedule prescribes updated charges for sampling and laboratory analysis of air, water, wastewater, soil, hazardous waste, noise, and emission samples. It also provides that transportation charges, taxes, and other applicable charges will be levied separately, while students and research scholars undertaking environmental studies will receive a 50% concession on analytical charges.
• The Board has approved the revised rates in its 95th Board Meeting held on May 13, 2026.
