Industry Specific ComplianceThe Government of Odisha, on May 18, 2026, issued a corrigendum regarding the revision of the Excise Licensing Order.

The following has been stated:-

•The Odisha Government has issued a corrigendum to its Excise Department Order dated March 26, 2026, in compliance with the Orissa High Court's judgment in Amit Raj v. State of Odisha and Others. 

•The term “Minimum Guaranteed Quantity (MGQ)” has been replaced with “Minimum Guaranteed Excise Revenue (MGER)” throughout the order. 

•The corrigendum also revises provisions relating to annual fixation of MGER, submission of only one application per shop, and mandatory opening of the licensed shop within 15 days of licence issuance. 

•All other provisions of the original order remain unchanged.
