The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) on July 04, 2026, notified the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Electricity Supply Code, Standards of Performance and Related Matters) (3rd Amendment) Regulations, 2026, further to amend the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Electricity Supply Code, Standards of Performance and Related Matters) Regulations, 2024.
The following has been stated:-
•The Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission to further amend its 2024 Electricity Supply Code and Standards of Performance regulations.
•This third amendment introduces revised variable charges for domestic consumers located outside village boundaries whose service lines exceed 500 meters.
•It establishes updated assessment norms for estimating connected electricity loads across residential plots, flats, commercial complexes, and industrial parks.
•Additionally, the regulations mandate specific land allocations at collector rates for grid sub-stations when project loads surpass 10 MVA or 50 MVA.
•Finally, it outlines new guidelines for single-point supply conversions, bank guarantees, and dedicated connections for electric vehicle charging stations.
They shall come into force from July 04, 2026.
