class="MsoNormal">The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) on June 22, 2026, notified the withdrawal of wastewater estimation guidelines and the introduction of an interim machinery-based wastewater calculation mechanism for textile processing industries.
The following has been stated:
• The RSPCB has withdrawn its July 31, 2023, Guidelines for Estimation of Wastewater Generation and Production applicable to small-scale textile industries in Pali, Balotra, Jodhpur, and Jaipur, in compliance with the Supreme Court's order dated March 18, 2026, in Suo Motu Writ Petition (Civil) No. 08/2025. The Court directed the Board to replace the estimation-based methodology with a robust, machinery-based and technology-driven system for determining wastewater generation.
• Pending finalization of a validated mechanism after field studies and stakeholder consultations, RSPCB has introduced an interim machinery-wise wastewater calculation framework prescribing standard wastewater discharge values (KLD) for various textile processing machines, such as jet dyeing, flatbed printing, jiggers, mercerizing machines, rotary printing machines, continuous washers, soft flow machines, and others.
• The revised methodology will be used by the Board and CETP Trusts for calculating wastewater discharge and processing Consent to Establish (CTE) and Consent to Operate (CTO) applications, with the Board's decision being final in case of any discrepancy.
