The Government of Goa on July 09, 2026, issued the Draft Goa Ports (Amendment) Rules, 2026 to further amend the Goa Ports Rules, 1983.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In Rule 54A of the Goa Ports Rules, 1983 in the Schedule, the existing entries against serial number (5) shall be omitted.
• In Schedule–I appended to the principal Rules for item No. “20. MOORING” and entries thereunder, the following item shall be substituted, namely: -
“20. Installation of Fishing Cage/Rack/Stakes for traditional fishermen in river. Fees of Rs. 5,000/- for permission to install Fishing Cage/Rack/Stakes for traditional fishermen in rivers shall be charged. The validity of such permission shall be of three years subject to annual verification by the Department”.
All objections and/or suggestions to the said draft Rules may be forwarded to the Captain of Ports and ex officio Joint Secretary to the Government of Goa, Captain of Ports Department, Panaji, before the expiry of the said period of fifteen days so that they may be taken into consideration at the time of finalization of the said draft Rules.
