Industry Specific ComplianceThe Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on July 17, 2026, issued corrigendum on Approved technical specifications of High End Equipment (HEEs) – GCMS/MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS & ICP-OES.

The authority has issued amendments to the previously approved technical specifications of High-End Equipment (HEEs) — specifically LC-MS/MS and ICP-MS — as notified earlier on December 10, 2025. These revisions aim to fine-tune certain performance parameters while keeping the overall framework intact.

For LC-MS/MS, the desolvation temperature requirement for ESI and APCI ionization sources has been reduced from 500°C or better to 400°C or better. In the case of ICP-MS, the high mass side sensitivity parameter has been revised from ≤ 1 x 10⁻⁷ to ≤ 5 x 10⁻⁷, while other specifications under the mass analyzer and detector remain unchanged.

All other provisions of the original notice continue to apply without modification. The specifications are indicative in nature and are not mandatory procurement conditions. Procuring agencies retain the flexibility to modify specifications based on their operational needs, consult technical experts, and constitute committees for finalization. Additionally, the authority has clarified that it bears no responsibility for procurement or contractual issues arising from such processes.
