The Indian Clearing Corporation Limited (ICCL) on July 17, 2026, updated the Eligible Banks List for Collateral Norms.
BSE Clearing Corporation Limited (BSECL), in reference to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) circular dated May 29, 2024, and its earlier circular dated February 26, 2026, has issued an updated list of banks eligible for collateral purposes. This update is in line with Section 3.2 (Criteria for Selection of Banks) under SEBI’s prescribed norms for acceptable collaterals and exposure of clearing corporations.
The revised list includes a total of 35 banks comprising public sector banks, private sector banks, and foreign banks operating in India. Prominent institutions such as Axis Bank Ltd, HDFC Bank Ltd, ICICI Bank Ltd, State Bank of India, and Bank of Baroda are part of the updated list, along with international banks like Citibank N.A., Deutsche Bank AG, and JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A.
Members of BSECL are advised to take note of this revised list, as only these specified banks will be considered eligible for collateral acceptance in compliance with SEBI guidelines. This ensures enhanced risk management, financial stability, and adherence to regulatory standards in clearing and settlement operations.
