The Government of Chhattisgarh, on July 15, 2026, issued the Chhattisgarh Industrial Investment Promotion (Amendment) Bill, 2026 to propose a comprehensive overhaul of the Chhattisgarh Industrial Investment Promotion Act, 2002 to create a modern, technology-driven investment ecosystem in the State.
The following has been stated:
The Bill establishes "Invest Chhattisgarh" as the State's single nodal agency for investment promotion, investor facilitation, single-window clearances, export promotion, and startup ecosystem development.
It introduces new definitions such as application, applicant, acknowledgement certificate, Invest Chhattisgarh, single-window system, and regulatory passport, while replacing references to the erstwhile nodal agency with Invest Chhattisgarh and updating statutory references from the Companies Act, 1956 to the Companies Act, 2013.
The Bill mandates online submission of applications through a unified single-window portal, provides investors with a digital regulatory passport consolidating approvals and licences, authorises Invest Chhattisgarh to prescribe service charges, and establishes a time-bound grievance redressal mechanism. It further empowers the State Government to frame industrial development and industrial land and building management policies, aligns application processing timelines with the Chhattisgarh Public Service Guarantee Act, 2011, and omits obsolete provisions under Sections 13, 19 and Schedule-I of the principal Act. Overall, the amendments aim to streamline regulatory approvals, enhance transparency, strengthen institutional coordination, and improve the ease of doing business in Chhattisgarh.
