The Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) on July 08, 2026, notified regarding the restriction on the Grant of CTE/CTO for industries near the Jojari River and the RIICO Industrial Area, Kakani.
The following has been stated:
• Pursuant to the Supreme Court's order dated March 18, 2026, in Suo Motu Writ Petition (Civil) No. 8 of 2025, concerning contamination of the Jojari River, the Board has directed that no fresh Consent to Establish (CTE) or Consent to Operate (CTO) shall be granted to hazardous or obnoxious industries located along the riverbanks without ensuring compliance with prescribed High Flood Line (HFL), mandatory river buffer zone, and other environmental safeguards.
• Further, based on directions of the High Level Ecosystem Oversight Committee (HLEOC) and the State Government, all proceedings relating to industrial development in RIICO Industrial Area, Kakani, Jodhpur, including allotment of plots and grant of CTE/CTO, have been kept in abeyance until further orders.
