Secretarial ComplianceThe Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL) on July 22, 2026, issued a notification regarding ease of doing investments - modified norms for nomination in Demat Accounts.

The following has been stated: -

•CDSL has clarified the modified nomination norms under the Ease of Doing Investments initiative for demat accounts.

•Depository Participants (DPs) must send bi-annual email and SMS reminders to all account holders without registered nomination details.

•This includes sole/single holder accounts that have opted out of nomination as well as accounts where neither opt-in nor opt-out has been submitted.

•All other provisions of CDSL Communiqué No. CDSL/OPS/DP/POLCY/2026/478 dated July 17, 2026 remain unchanged.
